With more than 500,000 games and applications on Android, iPhone and other devices, players and developers both need a way to find each other. You’ll meet four companies; GREE, Cloudmade, Flurry, and Tapjoy, who are creating global networks and tools for games that entice and entertain, as well as make money through advertising, promotion and virtual currency.

Matt Rothman, Managing Partner, Hemisphere Capital
Matt Rothman, Managing Partner, Hemisphere Capital, an investment and advisory firm focused on digital media based in London. Until 2002, he was CEO of Softbank Emerging Markets (SBEM), a $200 million fund established by Softbank Corp. and the International Finance Corp., with offices in San Francisco, Johannesburg, Warsaw, Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul. Prior to SBEM, Matt was a strategic consultant to a number of venture-backed start-ups in San Francisco. Previously, he was General Manager of Sony Online Ventures, and Senior Vice President of Sony New Technologies, the strategic development arm of Sony Corporation of America.
